ModCorr offers rapid, efficient delivery and setup of minimum to maximum security correctional facilities and specialty units. Position Summary

The Contract Administrator is responsible for managing the administrative, contractual, and compliance aspects of construction and manufacturing projects from project award through closeout. This position serves as the central point of coordination between Operations, Project Management, Estimating, Accounting, Procurement, Engineering, Legal, and Executive Leadership to ensure contracts are properly executed, documented, tracked, and administered.

The Contract Administrator plays a critical role in reducing contractual risk, improving project controls, maintaining compliance, and ensuring project teams have the information needed to successfully execute projects. This role is particularly valuable in complex project environments involving detention equipment, security electronics, modular construction, precast manufacturing, and multi-trade construction operations.

Key Responsibilities

Contract Administration

  • Manage the full lifecycle of prime contracts, subcontracts, and service contracts. 
  • Review contracts for completeness and ensure all required documentation is received prior to project execution. 
  • Coordinate contract execution and maintain executed contract files. 
  • Develop and maintain contract logs, subcontract logs, and agreement tracking systems. 
  • Ensure all contractual documents are properly organized and accessible. 

Project Startup & Contract Turnover

  • Participate in project kickoff meetings and contract handoff meetings. 
  • Ensure Project Managers, Operations, Accounting, and HR understand key contractual requirements and obligations. 
  • Coordinate project setup requirements including: 
    • Billing requirements 
    • Insurance requirements 
    • Bonding requirements 
    • Compliance documentation 
  • Assist in establishing project controls and documentation requirements prior to field mobilization. 

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Review contract terms and identify potential commercial, financial, schedule, and operational risks. 
  • Coordinate with leadership and legal counsel regarding contractual concerns. 
  • Monitor compliance with: 
    • Insurance requirements 
    • Bonding requirements 
    • Licensing requirements 
    • Safety requirements 
    • Quality requirements 
    • Customer contractual obligations 
  • Ensure all required notices and contract deliverables are submitted within required deadlines. 

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Serve as the primary administrative liaison between: 
    • Operations 
    • Project Management 
    • Estimating 
    • Accounting 
    • Procurement 
    • Engineering 
    • Safety & Quality 
    • Executive Leadership 
  • Assist with improving communication and accountability regarding contractual obligations and project requirements. 
  • Support implementation of contract administration best practices and process improvements. 

Qualifications

Education

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, Legal Studies, Project Management, or related field preferred. 

Experience

  • 3–7 years of experience in: 
    • Contract administration 
    • Construction administration 
    • Project coordination 
    • Procurement administration 
    • Commercial construction 
    • Manufacturing project administration 

Knowledge
