Postdoctoral Fellow Position in HIV and Eradication

Dr. Eliseo Eugenin Laboratory, Department of Neurobiology, UTMB, Galveston.

Our laboratory integrates cell biology, neuroscience, metabolomics, immunology, and translational approaches to identify novel therapeutic targets to eradicate viral reservoirs in different cells and tissues including monocyte/macrophages and T cells targeting metabolomics and cell to cell communication.

Our research focuses on:

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 NeuroHIV and viral reservoirs

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 HIV and substance of use disorder

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Cell-to-cell communication role in HIV mediated bystander damage

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 HIV and comorbidities (neurodegeneration and cardiovascular disease) and aging.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The neuropathogenesis and immunity of BSL3/4 viruses in the brain

This postdoctoral position is in The University of Texas system (UT). UT is committed to fostering the growth of postdoctoral researchers providing the tools to become independent (upon performance). Our university of a leader in infectious diseases including BSL2/3/4 viruses. The Investigator will be responsible for conducting research in a designated field, performing experiments, analyzing data, training students, and contributing to scientific publications and grant submissions.

Our main focuses are in virology and neuroscience, with excellent mentoring and outstanding opportunities for independence and developing your own ideas.

Minimum Qualifications

PhD in a relevant field of study

Preferred Qualifications

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Strong Laboratory Skills and Research Capabilities (HIV infection, primary cell culture, molecular biology techniques)

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Detection of HIV techniques (residual, fully competent and defective)

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Excellent written and verbal communication skills

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to work independently and collaboratively
