Duties:
The Welding Lab Assistant supports the Welding Technology Program by maintaining laboratory equipment, preparing instructional materials, assisting instructors and students, ensuring a safe training environment, and managing inventory of welding consumables and supplies
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum one year of welding or metalworking experience.
- Knowledge of SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, oxy-fuel cutting, and plasma cutting processes.
- Basic knowledge of welding equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.Â
- Ability to operate hand and power tools safely.Â
- Ability to lift, move, and handle welding materials and equipment
Preferred Qualifications: Â
- Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Welding Technology.Â
- Experience working with high school or college students in a laboratory environment.Â
- Forklift certification.Â
- AWS welding certifications
