JOB TITLE: EHR Trainer & Support Coordinator


REPORTS TO: Healthcare Informatics & EHR Manager/Administrator

POSITION SUMMARY:


The EHR Trainer & Support Coordinator is responsible for providing end-user training, day-to-day support, and coordination related to the Electronic Health Record (eClinicalWorks). This role focuses on ensuring staff are properly trained, supported, and able to effectively use the EHR in their daily workflows, while escalating system-level issues appropriately.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide direct EHR training to new and existing staff, including onboarding, refresher training, and workflow updates.
  • Develop, maintain, and update EHR training materials, tip sheets, and standard workflow documentation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for EHR-related user questions and support.
  • Manage and track EHR help desk tickets, including triage, resolution, and timely escalation.
  • Identify recurring issues, training gaps, and workflow challenges and communicate trends to EHR leadership.
  • Support staff during system updates, workflow changes, and go-live activities.
  • Coordinate EHR onboarding and offboarding requests, including submitting access requests per established procedures.
  • Assist with system testing and validation activities as assigned.
  • Train staff on EHR downtime and recovery workflows and assist with post-downtime documentation.
  • Reinforce standardized EHR workflows and best practices across sites and programs.
  • Collaborate with site and program leadership to support consistent EHR use.
  • Perform other duties reasonably related to training, support, and coordination responsibilities.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2–3+ years of experience using an EHR system, preferably eClinicalWorks.
  • eCW Train-the-Trainer Certification preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to train and guide diverse staff in effective EHR use.
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify workflow and training gaps.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA and EHR-related privacy requirements.
  • You must have the ability and willingness to regularly travel, if working in Nassau or Suffolk Counties, a valid New York, driver's license and transportation.

 

SALARY: 55,000-65,000
