Job Description for: Junior Network Administrator - Corporate
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Junior Network Administrator to support and maintain our IT infrastructure. This role is ideal for an early‑career IT professional with hands‑on experience in Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and fundamental network administration concepts. The successful candidate will assist with troubleshooting, user account management, network monitoring, and day‑to‑day operational support while working under the guidance of senior IT staff.
Key Responsibilities
Network & Infrastructure Support
- Assist in the configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks
- Perform basic network troubleshooting, including connectivity, DNS, DHCP, and IP addressing issues
- Monitor network performance and escalate issues as needed.
- Support firewalls, routers, switches, and access points (basic administration and documentation)
Microsoft Active Directory
- Create, modify, and disable user accounts and groups in Active Directory
- Manage Group Policy Objects (GPOs) at a basic to intermediate level
- Assist with password resets, account lockouts, and access permissions
- Support domain-joined computers and troubleshoot login/authentication issues
Microsoft 365 Administration
- Administer Microsoft 365 users, licenses, and mailboxes
- Support Exchange Online, OneDrive, and SharePoint basics
- Assist with mailbox permissions, distribution groups, and shared mailboxes
- Support security features such as MFA, password policies, and conditional access (basic level)
End‑User & Systems Support
- Provide Tier 1–2 support for hardware, software, and network-related issues
- Responsible for workstation setup, imaging, and deployment
- Maintain accurate documentation for systems, procedures, and configurations
- Work with vendors and senior administrators to resolve escalated issues

Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory (users, groups, GPOs)
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Admin Center
- Understanding of networking fundamentals:Â
- TCP/IP
- DNS
- DHCP
- VLANs
- Subnetting
- Basic experience with Windows Server and Windows client operating systems
- Familiarity with firewalls, switches, and routers
- Knowledge of PC/Laptop setup, imaging and deployment
- Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell preferred) is a plus
- SonicWall Firewall knowledge (NSa4700/TZ670/TZ370) is a plus
- N-Able knowledge (Remote Monitoring Management) is a plus
Soft Skills
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
- Good written and verbal communication
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Willingness to learn and grow in a fast‑paced IT environment
- Team‑oriented mindset with a customer‑service focus
Education & Experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 1–2 years of experience in a help desk, IT support, or junior system/network administration role preferred
Preferred Certifications (Not Required)
- Microsoft Certified: Fundamentals / Associate (M365 or Windows Server)
- CompTIA Network+
- CompTIA A+ or Security+
