1^st Shift Production Crew Member Job Description

Position: 1^st Shift Production Crew Member (Full-Time)

Work Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday 4:30AM – 1:00PM (Occasional overtime and Saturdays required)

Reports to: 1^st Shift Production Supervisor

Job Summary:            

This position is responsible for following production procedures as outlined in the Great West Kansas SOP Manual. This includes stripping cardboard off frozen meat, palletizing frozen meat, working on production lines and performing other duties throughout the warehouse as instructed. 

Job duties (including but not limited to): 

• Processing product into plate freezers.
• Cleaning production area.
• De-boxing product.
• Disassembling and cleaning equipment (grinder, meat pump, emulsifier, etc.)
• Performing Quality Assurance inspections with product, equipment, and machinery. 
• Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, wrappers, etc.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

 Knowledge:

• Effective verbal, written and listening communication skills
• Ability to inspect for foreign material, odor, color in individual product
• Ability to learn and apply proper procedures regarding quality assurance, including, but not limited to safe food handling and product inspection
• Ability to learn pallet jack and forklift safety

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift at least 60 pounds on a continuous basis
• Ability to work in a cool environment
• Ability to be on feet 8 hours per day

Benefits:

Starting Wage: $16.00 per hour
