Position Summary
This role is responsible for transforming procurement into a data-driven, systems-enabled function by leading process design, ERP optimization, and advanced procurement analytics.
The position oversees Procurement Coordinators transform the function toward scalable operations with analytical decision-making and workflow optimization.
In addition to performance management of the Procurement team, the core focus of this role is developing and applying data insights to improve purchasing efficiency, including order batching strategies, vendor performance optimization, and cost-to-serve improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Operations & Performance Management
- Lead Procurement Coordinators through structured workflows, SLAs, and KPI-driven performance managementÂ
- Define and monitor operational metrics (PO cycle time, accuracy, fill rate support, ETA reliability)Â
- Drive consistency and accountability through standardized processes and performance trackingÂ
- Provide ongoing coaching, development, and performance feedback to team members, including regular 1:1s, goal setting, and career development planning
- Manage team performance through clear expectations, accountability frameworks, and formal performance management processesÂ
- Build team capability by identifying skill gaps and implementing training and development initiatives
- Enable team autonomy by reducing reliance on manager-driven decision makingÂ
Advanced Procurement Analytics & Process Optimization
- Develop and implement data-driven purchasing strategies, including:Â
- PO batching and order consolidation logicÂ
- Order frequency optimizationÂ
- Analyze vendor performance, lead time variability, and service levels to improve procurement outcomesÂ
- Build models to optimize tradeoffs between inventory levels, service levels, and working capitalÂ
- Partner with Sr. Buyers to align purchasing decisions with demand and stocking strategiesÂ
- Translate complex data into actionable recommendations that improve cost, efficiency, and serviceÂ
ERP Systems & Process Optimization
- Own procurement systems (ERP, Asana, reporting tools) and drive continuous improvementÂ
- Lead ERP enhancements and support system implementations (e.g., Just Foods)Â
- Design automated workflows and tools to reduce manual work and improve data accuracyÂ
- Ensure procurement processes are scalable, standardized, and system-drivenÂ
Cross-Functional Enablement
- Partner with Sr. Buyers, Account Management, Logistics, and FSQA to align procurement decisionsÂ
- Support business initiatives through data insights and process improvementsÂ
- Lead change management for new tools, workflows, and optimization strategiesÂ
General Responsibilities & Compliance
- Perform additional duties as assigned by managementÂ

Minimum Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related fieldÂ
- 5+ years in procurement, supply chain, or operations with strong analytical focus
- 3+ years of experience leading and managing a team (minimum team size of 4+), including coaching, performance management, and developmentÂ
- Advanced Excel skillsÂ
- Experience analyzing operational data and driving process improvementsÂ
- Experience with PowerBI or similar reporting toolsÂ
- Experience with ERP systemsÂ
Preferred:
- Experience with cost modeling, inventory optimization, or logistics decision
- Experience with ERP implementation and change management
