Mission of the role


The mission of the Warehouse Supervisor is to oversee the receipt, storage, and disbursement of warehoused goods efficiently and on time.


Accountabilities

  • Accountable for coordinating, assigning, and prioritizing work within the warehouse for a staff of approximately 4 people. Assist in managing departmental rosters, and holiday coverage, and working with the team on time off requests and callouts.  
  • Manage all stock movements and transactions through the WMS. Receive goods. Pull goods and move them to the floor. Conduct physical counts, reconciling with the data storage system. Dating and rotating goods. Put-away goods. 
  • Assist in monitoring the development of the warehouse team through continual job assessments and training needs. Responsible for the maintenance and implementation of good Health and Safety measures in the work environment. 
  • Responsible for warehouse, and HACCP logs, and adhere to food safety practices. Inventory integrity, FIFO practices, and waste control. Ensure all relevant documentation and follow-up are completed on time and accurately.

  • Demonstrated ability to support company initiatives, standard work process (SOP), and safety.
  • Success in coaching and developing people to improve performance levels.
  • Knowledge of FIFO concepts, food safety, production planning, waste control, and quality assurance.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in warehousing and/or supply chain including experience in managing various aspects of (WMS, inventory management, cycle counts, stock rotation, and food safety/hygiene)
  • Ability to develop and promote synergy among internal stakeholders which is customer-focused with a primary emphasis on ensuring that the warehouse department is running efficiently and in compliance.
  • Able to understand good warehousing practices and adherence to the Quality Management Systems that are in place. SERV Safe certification/extensive knowledge of HACCP and OSHA
  • High School diploma, college degree preferred.
