This position provides a learning environment that is safe, comfortable, and healthy in order to enhance the growth and development of each child and is responsible for maintaining all program standards to include CCG, NAEYC, Head Start and the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services. This position serves as a substitute in teacher role for the centers assigned. The Preschool Resource Teacher works under general supervision of the Center Manager/and or Education Specialist with some demand for independent judgment and action. Â

Position Details Â
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions Â
- Assists in the planning, preparation and implementation of work with children appropriate to development level based on best practices for early childhood education; provides extension of daily instructional time during after-school timeÂ
- Manages time and becomes familiar with routine of each classroom in which he/she may workÂ
- Assumes responsibility for daily classroom program in Teacher’s absence and during after-school time. Shares responsibility of setting up room for daily activities and provides attractive and functional learning centersÂ
- Develops strong relationships with children and their familiesÂ
- Develops positive relationships with co-workers and serves as a team member in assigned classroom. Represents CCG to parents and co-workers, especially during afternoon pick up time.Â
- Requires the acquisition of knowledge and proficiency of the Head Start Electronic Information System within the introductory period of employment. ChildCareGroup will train the employee either directly or through the Database Training Department of Head Start of Greater Dallas, Inc.Â
- Participates in entry process of child into care giving groupÂ
- Participates in parent meetings and parent conferences as neededÂ
- Organizes a safe classroom environment for children with a minimum amount of hazardsÂ
- Assists in the inventory of and request for equipment and suppliesÂ
- Contacts other classroom teachers, administrative staff, children, parents and families as necessaryÂ
- Performs other duties as assignedÂ
Education and ExperienceÂ
- High school diploma or equivalent required, PRESCHOOL Child Development Associate (CDA) or Associate's degree in child development or related field required, Bachelors degree preferredÂ
- One year of experience working with young children preferredÂ
- Must demonstrate desire to work with children ages 3-5 and have general knowledge of child developmentÂ
- Must demonstrate ability to work as a team memberÂ
- Must demonstrate good organizational skills and written and oral communication skillsÂ
- Must have ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, parents and center volunteersÂ
- Regular and prompt attendance requiredÂ

Travel and ComplianceÂ
- Must have a valid Texas driver's licenseÂ
- Driving record must comply with CCG's automobile insurance carrier requirementsÂ
- Must have liability insurance coverage and reliable personal transportationÂ
- Ability to travel locally or out of town as requiredÂ
- Mileage reimbursement is offered when applicableÂ
- Must submit to and successfully pass all required CCG and Partner Program background checks throughout employment. These include FBI, Fingerprinting, Neglect and Abuse, Federal, State, Local, and Sex Offender background checks. Background check requirements may be expanded at the discretion of CCG and Partner Programs.Â
