3rd Shift Available 

 Job Summary: (See the Summary of Responsibilities for a comprehensive list of duties): 

Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machines, and other equipment in order to maintain and increase the flow of production. Provides own tools.*

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.  

• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. 

• Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.  

• Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.  

• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments. 

• Repairs or replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. 

• Lubricates and cleans parts. 

• Starts devices to test their performance.  

• Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.  

• Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.  

• Repairs electrical equipment.  

• Remove and install new equipment as needed. 

• Take a proactive role in assuring safe, quality products are produced by immediately addressing any safety or quality concerns.

• Must be able to work at least 8 plus hours per day 6 days a week, weekends and be on weekend rotation call duty

• Other duties may be assigned on occasion at the request of the Maintenance Supervisor. 

 Qualifications and Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and use lifts; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear, and/or smell in order to correctly diagnose and repair the malfunctioning machine or equipment.  Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must possess good reading and writing skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with coworkers on an individual or team basis. Must possess the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Must possess the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, as well as to draw and interpret bar graphs. Must also be able to attend different seminars, vocational trainings, and specialized schools in order to enhance understanding of technology being used within the company.  

Education and/or Experience: 

 High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
