JOB SUMMARY: 

An Inventory Control Specialist’s purpose is to maintain an accurate inventory in BC for all products and materials.  The focus should be on finding discrepancies between physical inventory levels and what’s shown in the system.  It is critical to be active in the warehouse and comfortable with the BC system.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Monitors and maintains current inventory levels investigates reoccurring problems
  • Ability to process in BC, purchase orders, production orders, transfer orders, inventory adjustments, etc.
  • Receive inbound product (WIP, finished goods) and materials 
  • Understand the physical flow of product through production and how BC processes each movement in and out of inventory
  • Ensure proper bin to bin movements in the warehouse
  • Troubleshooting BC related problems in all departments, contact Columbus IT if necessary
  • Processes and documents return as required following established procedures
  • May lead, guide, and train team members
  • Ensure all SOPs established for the department are being followed and all guidelines set forth by OSHA, USDA, and SQF are being followed.
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
  • Take a proactive role in assuring safe, quality products are produced by immediately addressing and safety or quality concerns.

 

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
