Riverwood Healthcare is seeking a motivated individual interested in building a healthcare career with the long‑term goal of performing both phlebotomy and limited‑scope X‑ray duties. The Phlebotomy & X‑Ray Operator In‑Training position begins in a phlebotomy role (with training provided if needed) and includes paid, Riverwood sponsored training to become a Limited Scope X‑Ray Operator over a 6–8 month period. Upon successful completion of the training program and any required certification or competency validation, the employee will begin performing X‑ray procedures in addition to phlebotomy responsibilities and will receive a corresponding pay increase aligned with the imaging pay scale. Following training, the employee is expected to work in both roles based on department and patient care needs. This position requires the employee to complete the training program and commit to one (1) year of employment with Riverwood Healthcare following course completion. Riverwood’s terms and conditions apply, including repayment of training costs if the employment commitment is not fulfilled.
About the Position:
The Phlebotomy & X‑Ray Operator In‑Training supports patient care by assisting with blood collection and diagnostic imaging services in the clinic. This role involves direct patient interaction, learning technical skills, and following safety, infection‑control, and radiation‑protection standards while working closely with clinical and imaging teams.
The position will be trained at Riverwood’s Aitkin clinic, with the intention of transitioning to work at the Garrison clinic as a phlebotomist and limited‑scope X‑ray operator once training is successfully completed. - High school diploma required.
- Reliable, dependable, and able to balance work and coursework.
- Excellent communication and customer‑service skills, with a positive and professional attitude.
- Willingness to learn and comfort receiving coaching in a clinical environment.
- Ability to work well in a team and support providers, staff, and patients.
- Basic computer skills and willingness to learn electronic medical records.
- Commitment to completing the sponsored Limited Scope X‑Ray Operator training and transitioning into a full‑time Phlebotomist and Limited‑Scope X‑Ray Operator role.
