Overview
Responds to emergency calls to provide efficient and immediate care to the critically ill and injured, and to maintain care of the patient until ambulance arrives to take the patient to a medical facility. After receiving the call from the dispatcher, the Paramedic arrives to the location given, using the most expeditious route. The Paramedic must be able to work alone, and give instructions to laypersons during an emergency.Responsibilities

- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide tasks appropriate to the infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient during an emergency.
- Ability to assess need for and perform CPR.
- Meets mental and physical requirements of the job.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to relate appropriately to patients, co-workers, clients, and public.
- Follow directions and performs assignments in a prompt, efficient manner.
- Ability to adapt to period of high service activity and stressful environment, as well as, periods of low activity.
- High School Diploma/GED Equivalent Required
- 1 Healthcare/Medical Preferred
- Certified Paramedic Certified Paramedic - State of Indiana National Registry Paramedic National Registry Paramedic
- CPR CPR- (AHA/BLS) Healthcare Provider ACLS
