Barista - Part-Time

Creative Dining Services is looking for an experienced part-time Barista at Indiana University Northwest in Gary, IN. The Barista maintains operations at the coffee shop while maintaining a positive environment, which provides fast, efficient, and friendly service ensuring a quality experience for both our customers and team members.  The Barista is responsible for customer service, product knowledge and education, and encouraging safe work practices.

Core Responsibilities:

• Prepares and presents food & beverages according to established recipe and presentation standards.
• Provides service to the customers in a positive, friendly, helpful manner.
• Responds proactively to prevent customer service situations.  Investigates and resolves customer incidents, documenting if necessary.
• Runs a register, other devices and Credit Card Machine accurately, following all cash handling procedures.
• Follows current trends in the coffee business and makes operations suggestions.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of retail or six months of specialty coffee experience.
• Basic computer knowledge.
