Job DetailsJob Location: Gary Salvage Outlet - Gary, IN 46408Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: Not SpecifiedSalary Range: $13.00 HourlyTravel Percentage: Up to 50% Job Shift: DayJob Category: TransportationJob Objective: To support the efficient operation of the warehouse and transportation services by maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment and assisting company truck drivers with the delivery and pick-up of materials. This position reports to Transportation Outlet Manager or Director of Transportation, Facilities and Salvage Operations who evaluates performance annually. Essential Job Functions: Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently. Unload cages and sort materials for proper storage. Transport materials within the warehouse using pallet jacks or hand trucks. Prepare salvage materials accurately for shipment. Assist drivers with loading and unloading during delivery routes and at the facility. Accompany drivers to delivery and pick-up locations; handle materials manually or with equipment. Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor during customer interactions. Ensure necessary materials and equipment are available for route service. Follow the direction of the truck driver while on delivery routes. Maintain cleanliness and general housekeeping standards in the warehouse. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. QualificationsRequired Education and Skills: Basic reading and writing skills. Ability to accurately weigh and record material. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen. Must have reliable transportation, a current driver's license, and provide proof of insurance to travel to different job sites. Qualifications: Authorized to work in the United States. Flexible availability. Able to frequently bend, twist, reach above shoulder level, push and pull, crouch or stoop, kneel, repetitively use feet, and use head and neck in a twisting or static motion and to look up and/or down, and lift and/or move up to 70 lbs. Ability to use floor scales, hand cart, and other standard equipment.
