Job Summary:

The Team Leader will lead an assigned team through the daily processing of material, ensuring smooth operation of the Tension Level Line. This includes both direct and indirect processes for Tension Leveling.

Reports To:

Operations Manager

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Assist with training of team members.
  • Assist with overseeing the daily workflow; and assignments of the team.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that the necessary equipment is available and in working order to complete assignments.
  • Leads team in conducting daily safety checks on equipment and surrounding area.
  • Inspects quality and quantity of product delivered to the team.
  • Verifies that outgoing product meets company quality standards.
  • Keeps team members informed about rules, regulations, policies, and objectives.
  • Maintains detail and accurate work records.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify ways to meet objectives and improve effectiveness; implements viable ideas.
  • Resolves conflicts that arise among team members and/or other employees.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent supervisory and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to properly identify, classify, and document nonconformities of material being processed.
  • Competent computer skills (i.e. excel, word, data entry)
  • Proficient with the use of Inspection instruments such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate team to accomplish objectives.
  • Ability to solve conflicts among coworkers.
  • Ability to remain organized.
  • Basic understanding of records, inventory, and other routine documentation used in the warehouse.
  • Thorough understanding of warehouse procedures and regulations.
  • Ability to operate equipment in assigned area.
  • Ethical conduct.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s Degree preferred.
  • At least two years of related work experience preferred.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods standing/walking on uneven ground or hard surface.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds. 

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Generally, workdays are Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week; longer work hours work may be required to complete projects.

Work Environment:

Plant environment, temperatures can vary, i.e. cooler in the winter and warmer in the summer. Noise level can be elavated. Warehouse environment is dusty and dirty with uneven ground.

Travel:

No travel expected for this position.
