Supervisor Production Planning

Job Summary:

The Supervisor Production Planning position is located at our U.S. Corporate Headquarters in Gastonia, NC. The person in this role plans, develops, and manages the production planning function for Stabilus United States (STUS) in meeting the KPI’s for Logistics; customer on-time shipments, NWC, and production schedules (maintaining optimum OEE), In-Bound freight, Out-Bound freight and activities for optimal performance.

Main Tasks 

  • Primary responsible for STUS production planning; including MPS (Master Production Schedule). Ensuring production plan accurately reflects customer requirements with the aim of enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Establish priorities for specific production jobs
  • Coordinate and schedule Pilot’s to assure PPAP requirements timing
  • Coordinate engineering changes and/or phase-out for programs to prevent obsolescence
  • Balance production schedule to level headcount working with production
  • Monitor the status of supplier release delivery dates and quantities in SAP for international & domestic suppliers
  • Coordinate and monitor supplier inventory
  • Follow up on early/late shipments, over/under shipments, and support customer logistics complaints
  • Coordinate expedite arrangements if needed for inbound material
  • Communicate exception requirements to suppliers to support sudden customer increases or decreases in demand or to support internal bank builds
  • Assist with cycle counts of raw material, investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
  • Travel to customers, and other Stabilus centers of operations as required.
  • Achieve departmental budget objectives.
  • The job holder is obliged to follow the existing procedures and work instructions and act accordingly.

Education, Training, Certifications

  • Undergraduate degree in marketing, logistics, purchasing finance, accounting, or engineering.


Experience

  • 1-5 years of Logistics planning experience 
  • Demonstrated history of performance in achieving business objectives
  • Experience working with computers and production planning software, SAP preferred.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced warehouse environment preferred.
  • Must be able to work in an environment of continuous change. The evolution of this department will be dependent on a growing customer base and the individual needs of the customer. It is required that the position holder be able to readily accept change and commit to the successful implementations necessary to meet customer expectations.
