Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking dynamic technical leaders to drive the architecture, design, and development of advanced systems for airborne and ground-based ISR platforms. In this role, you will lead cross-functional teams in defining system requirements, integrating complex subsystems, and ensuring successful verification and validation. You will balance both technical and programmatic responsibilities in a fast-paced environment focused on delivering innovative, mission-critical solutions on schedule and within budget.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Lead project planning and development activities in alignment with customer and mission requirements.
  • Perform resource and capacity planning in coordination with program leadership.
  • Manage program cost, schedule, quality and technical performance; ensure proactive mitigation of variances.
  • Oversee development of system documentation including requirements, design artifacts, test plans, and regulatory deliverables.
  • Ensure system performance, compliance, and product quality through rigorous integration, verification, and validation processes.
  • Identify program risks and develop mitigation strategies using modeling, simulation, agile development, and iterative test approaches.
  • Drive collaboration across electrical, mechanical, cyber, software, systems engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams to ensure cohesive execution.
  • Serve as interface with customers, communicating progress, risks, design decisions, and changes in scope.
  • Support business development by contributing to proposals, cost estimates, and technical solution shaping.
  • Ability to obtain US Government clearance.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, Cost Account Management and EVMS.
  • Proficiency with project planning tools, MS Project,.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cost, schedule, quality and technical performance in engineering programs.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams through full life-cycle development.
  • Engineering Program Leadership – Proven ability to lead geographically distributed engineering teams using digital engineering, and agile development practices.
  • Technical Depth – Demonstrated success developing systems involving electronics, stabilization, and control algorithms.
  • Innovative Problem Solving – Ability to architect non-obvious, multi-disciplinary solutions that differentiate L3Harris in competitive environments and align with customer mission objectives.

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York state is $80,500 - $149,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
