The Opportunity: Northern Illinois Food Bank is seeking an extraordinarily motivated candidate to join our team as a Healthy Communities Coordinator. This role supports the day-to-day operations of Build Healthy Communities (BHC) programs by coordinating activities across internal teams and external partners, providing operational, administrative, and data support, and ensuring programs are executed efficiently and in alignment with established processes and timelines. The Healthy Communities team addresses the needs of neighbors through initiatives such as Screen and Intervene, Food as Medicine, and Economic Mobility. This Full-Time position is based out of our West Suburban Center (Geneva) location. Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain and update program files, data, and tracking systems, ensuring accuracy across dashboards and databases. Create, review, and adjust food orders for BHC programs, including Rx Mobiles, Food as Medicine, Whole Body Approach, and Child Nutrition Program mobiles, in alignment with established processes. Monitor BHC program alignment with H.E.R. Nutrition Guideline initiatives. Coordinate with internal Food Bank teams to support program logistics and address operational needs. Support the development and maintenance of positive, professional relationships with external program partners, including healthcare organizations, hospitals, clinics, and community-based organizations. Communicate with external partners regarding scheduling, orders, deliveries, distributions, and reporting. Process weekly menus, distributions, online orders, and other operational tasks for Food as Medicine initiatives. Maintain program reporting and support compliance tracking for BHC programs. Provide regular updates to the Healthy Communities Manager and internal stakeholders on program status, performance, and/or concerns. Coordinate meeting logistics, including scheduling, communications, and space arrangements. Create agendas, presentations, and materials for meetings and trainings. Attend meetings to support coordination efforts and provide notes. Perform other related duties and/or responsibilities as assigned or required. QualificationsWho You Are: 2+ years of experience in program coordinator, operations, or administrative support roles required. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong attention to detail with experience managing data and maintaining accurate records. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to learn new systems and technology quickly. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Demonstrated problem-solving skills within established processes and guidelines. Ability to work independently with general guidance and collaborate effectively with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders. Strong customer service and relationship management skills
