Position: Registered Nurse (RN) –  Critical Care Float Pool
Location: Geneva General Hospital
Shift: Nights (7:00pm-7:00 am)
Hours: 72 hours per pay period (with weekend and holiday rotations) Get paid for 80 hours after completing department orientation 

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Float Pool team at Geneva General Hospital. As a member of our Float Pool, you will work across multiple units where assistance is needed, including ICUMed/Surg (3 North & 2 West), and more. This role offers a dynamic work environment where you can develop a broad range of nursing skills while making a meaningful impact on the care of patients in need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients across a variety of units, including ICU, Med/Surg, and Emergency Department (ED).
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to assess patient needs and create individualized care plans.
  • Deliver direct care and evaluate patient progress throughout their treatment episode.
  • Provide patient and family education, focusing on self-care, lifestyle changes, and long-term health management.
  • Develop specialized skills in cardiac care, telemetry monitoring, and critical care.
  • Offer emotional support and promote comfort in a Healing Environment.

Units You May Be Assigned To:

  • 2 West: Specializes in cardiac care, telemetry monitoring, and medical/surgical conditions in adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients.
  • 3 North: Provides care for patients with medical conditions across the adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations.
  • ICU: Develop expertise in life support systems, cardiac monitoring, and critical care interventions.
  • ED: Apply skills in managing both life-threatening and routine emergency situations.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited School of Registered Nursing.
  • Licensure: Current New York State RN License.
  • Certifications:
    • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification may be obtained during Clinical Orientation.
    • Basic Coronary Care certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
    • CPI certification must be completed within 1 year of hire. Both CPI and Coronary Care courses are provided through Finger Lakes Health’s Educational Department.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 1 year of critical care nursing experience.
    • Float pool experience is preferred, but not required.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Hourly Rate Based on Experience: $43.47 - $54.38 (based on experience).
