ICU 
Health Insurance available at the first of the month, after 30 days
Day/Night and Weekend Rotations
12 hour shifts 7a-7p and 7p-7a

Requirements

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.

 

License: Current NYS license to practice as a Registered Nurse

 

Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Basic Coronary Care

 

Experience:  1-year ICU experience required. Moderate Sedation Competency, Analytical skills to assess, prepare, impliment and evaluate the outcomes of the plan of care of patients / families. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and ability to deal with the people in a professional and courteous manner.  Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling.  Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills. Computer literacy

 

Responsibility Summary

 

The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical and communication skills in delivering high quality compassionate care to patients and families. The Registered Professional Nurse  assesses patient need, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates the care delivery throughout the patients episode.  The Registered Nurse in Intensive Care develops specialized skill to care for critically ill unstable patients. The RN develops a strong working knowledge of life support machines, cardiac monitoring systems and other life preserving medical equipment and nursing interventions essential for a critical care nurse. The  RN is accountable for patient family education to assist the patient and family in understanding self care beyond hospitalization including lifestyle changes to support health and healing. The  Registered Nurse is expected to promote comfort, and provide emotional support in a healing environment.
