Teachers Now is hiring reliable and motivated Substitute Teachers to support K–12 schools throughout the Austin area. As a Substitute Teacher, you will help maintain classroom consistency, support student learning, and make a positive impact when regular teachers are unavailable.
No teaching certification is required. If you have 60+ college credit hours or an Associate’s degree, you may qualify to become a Substitute Teacher with Teachers Now. Paid training and onboarding support are provided.

Substitute Teacher Responsibilities
- Follow classroom lesson plans provided by the teacher
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and productive classroom environment
- Manage student behavior and encourage participation
- Supervise students during classroom activities, lunch, recess, and transitions
- Take attendance and communicate concerns to school staff
- Support school staff in maintaining learning continuity
Schedule
Monday–Friday availability
Full Day: 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
Half Day: 7:00 AM–12:00 PM or 12:00 PM–4:00 PM
Substitute Teacher Qualifications
- 60+ college credit hours or Associate’s degree
- Dependable, professional, and punctual
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Ability to work with students in a K–12 setting
- Must pass required background check and fingerprinting
