Deputy Chief of Police

Position Overview:

Under limited supervision, performs a variety of complex administrative, supervisory, and law enforcement work in planning, coordinating, and overseeing activities to ensure the efficient and orderly operation of the Police Department. Reports to the Chief of Police.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Attain and remain current in all certifications described for eligibility for Police Officers.
• Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice supplemented by a minimum of ten (10) years of experience as a command level officer or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, to include budget management.
• Must have a complete and working knowledge of the Law Enforcement Accreditation process.
• Valid South Carolina Driver's License.
• No written disciplinary actions, disciplinary suspension and/or involuntary demotion within the past twelve months that would exclude the candidate.
