SUMMARY

Accountable for the facilitation of the manufacturing shop floor scheduling, the production pull system, maintaining production flow, management of flow disruptions, applicable master data updates, and release of production work orders. Duties will be coordinated through all affected departments and completed in support of the Master Schedule. Must possess the ability to communicate and coordinate with all levels of the manufacturing value stream in a professional and timely manner. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Produce production work packages and release as required to support the production plan within the constraints of shop control and capacity as driven by the production schedule. 
  • Initiates production pull signal based on established protocols and schedule requirements
  • Level-load the shop floor schedule based on Critical Constraint Resource (CCR) capacity 
  • Plan and monitor material movement in production cycle to ensure continuous operations 
  • Alter work order routing sequence and/or labor/queue times as needed to maintain production flow and schedule accuracy.
  • Strong ability to maintain positive communication across departments to effectively supporting production.
  • Maintain appropriate computer databases as required.
  • Responsible for safe work areas, cleanliness, organization, and supplies.
  • Maintain professional communication with customer representatives both internally and externally.
  • Provide weekly status reports to Management team.
  • Complete initial / recurrent training requirements in a timely manner.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Assign duties and examine work for exactness, completeness, and quality. 
  • Analyze and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates. 
  • Provide training and guidance for subordinates.

QUALIFICATIONS 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

  • High School education, or equivalent reading, writing, and mathematical abilities.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing utilizing ERP systems for shop floor management required.
  • An understanding of Lean Six Sigma and Theory of Constraints (TOC) is preferred.
  • Expertise and personal skills to provide direction to department team members.
  • Knowledge of the use of equipment, instruments, and basic tools needed within a manufacturing department. 
  • Ability to work independently or as a member of a team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office, Project software, and other company and discipline specific software applications.
  • Ability to utilize mathematical fundamentals such as fractions and percentages, to achieve practical situations.
  • Must be motivated and detail oriented with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and plan work.
  • Ability and willingness to work extended hours, when needed. 

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

  • Read, write and understand the English language.
