Primary Responsibilities
- Supervise and care for a group of children while ensuring their safety and well-being
- Follow all Primrose and state licensing regulations related to health, safety, and child care
- Observe and assess each child’s developmental needs on an ongoing basis
- Implement approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedules using the Primrose Balanced Learning® curriculum
- Collaborate with leadership to plan parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations
- Maintain an engaging, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Encourage positive behavior through clear expectations and positive reinforcement
- Assist with classroom, playground, and common area maintenance
- Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and school events
- Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with the Primrose Employee Handbook
- Support the school in additional duties as assigned by leadership
Desired Skills and Experience
- Must meet state and local child care licensing requirements
- Previous experience as a teacher or assistant teacher in a licensed early childhood program preferred
- Knowledge of the social, emotional, and developmental needs of young children
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds when assisting children or responding to emergency situations
- Infant and toddler teachers must be able to safely lift children into and out of cribs
