Senior People Operations Generalist

Austin, TX | Full-Time | In-Office Mon-Thu, WFH Fri | 2x Best Places to Work, Central Texas

We take our work seriously. We do not take ourselves too seriously.

At RDC, we have been recognized as one of the Best Places to Work in Central Texas twice. That does not happen by accident. It happens because we genuinely like the people we work with, we invest in making this a great place to be, and we hold ourselves to a high standard for the employee experience we create.

We are looking for someone to help us keep that going!

This is a high-impact role for someone who is comfortable running payroll, managing benefits, and ensuring compliance while creating exceptional employee experiences. From welcoming new hires on day one to supporting leaders and employees throughout the employee lifecycle, you'll play a key role in shaping our culture and helping our people thrive.

What You Will Be Doing

Recruiting

  • Own full-cycle recruiting from 'we need someone' to 'welcome to the team' - sourcing, screening, scheduling, and offers
  • Make sure every candidate, hired or not, leaves with a positive impression of RDC
  • Partner with hiring managers who actually want the help

Onboarding

  • Run an onboarding experience that makes new hires think 'okay, I made the right call' on day one
  • Own all the logistics - systems access, equipment, paperwork, first-week scheduling - so nothing falls through the cracks
  • Look for ways to make it better every single time

Payroll and Benefits

  • Process multi-state payroll accurately and on time for 130+ employees - people count on this, and you take that seriously
  • Support benefits administration including open enrollment, life events, and the daily questions that come with it
  • Partner with Finance on reconciliations, reports, and audits

Compliance and Employee Relations

  • Stay current on federal, state, and local employment law across our multi-state footprint - you know when something is a compliance issue
  • Keep employee records, policies, and the handbook accurate and up to date
  • Be a trusted first point of contact for employee questions, escalating to the Head of People when it calls for it
  • Administer leave programs including FMLA, state-specific leaves, and ADA accommodations

People Systems and Operations

  • Own our HRIS data integrity and help the broader team get the most out of our people systems
  • Support performance review cycles, compensation updates, and people reporting
  • Spot what is not working and bring ideas to fix it

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ Years of People Ops experience, ideally at a company in the 100 to 200 employee range - you have been in this environment before
  • Hands-on multi-state payroll experience - you have processed it yourself, not just watched someone else do it
  • Solid knowledge of federal and state employment law - FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, and the state-specific stuff that trips people up
  • Experience owning full-cycle recruiting without someone holding your hand
  • A track record of running onboarding well - new hires remember their first week because you made it count
  • Someone who is organized, follows through, and does not need to be chased to close the loop
  • Comfort working as a generalist without direct reports - you find the ownership motivating, not limiting
  • Discretion and professionalism when it comes to sensitive people matters
  • Experience with an HRIS platform (we use ADP Workforce Now) and payroll systems

    Bonus Points
    • PHR or SHRM-CP certification
    • Experience at a company that was actively growing headcount - you know what it feels like when things move fast
    • Multi-state benefits administration experience
