Yard Specialist - Heavy Equipment

$18.00 to $23.00 per hour based on experience

Purpose:  To record and communicate all details of machine movements accurately, ensure equipment fleet is maintained properly & maintain a professional looking equipment yard. 

Duties

 Machine Receiving:

• Assist in unloading all incoming machine deliveries.
• Receive any pertinent hauling paperwork that driver has, if none, inquire about machine specifics and report activity to Inside Sales Manager (or responsible person).
• Take machine pictures that are consistent with the “Inspection Picture Process” form.
• Ensure that machine and attachments have necessary identification: s/n plate is legible, Meade stock Id is recorded on machine and attachments and base units have Meade stickers on them.
• Complete “Inspection Form” for machine.  Include PM sticker dates and/or filter dates on “Inspection Form.”  When complete, scan and email or deliver “Inspection Form” to Inside Sales Manager.
• According to work order details; clean, grease & prep machine for future shipment.  

Machine Shipments:

• Yard Specialist will receive notification of machine shipment from Inside Sales Manager.   
• Take machine pictures that are consistent with our “Inspection Picture Process” form.
• Ensure that machine and attachments have necessary identification: s/n plate is legible, Meade stock Id is recorded on machine and attachments and base units have proper Meade stickers on them.
• Complete “Inspection Form” for machine.  
• Assist in loading machine.  Obtain shipment signature on “Inspection Form.”  Supply driver with copy of form.
• Scan form to Inside Sales Manager. 

General Yard Functions:

• Organize equipment units and attachments in an orderly fashion on the yard as directed by Branch Management.
• Maintain gravel lots by grading or other necessary means as directed by Branch Management.
• Ensure all on hand inventory units and attachments have been cleaned and serviced and have proper identification: s/n plates are legible, Meade stock id #s are noted on the unit & base units have proper Meade stickers on them.
• Yard Specialist will work with sales team on washing and detailing new sold equipment.
• Will assist techs as needed at times, may be asked to deliver parts to field techs in the field
• Yard Specialist will perform other duties as directed.

Experience, Skills, and Knowledge:

• Valid Driver's license required
• Clean driving record required
• Ability to lift 55lbs required
• Good skills in operating vehicles and equipment
• High School Diploma or equivalent required 
• Regular attendance and timeliness are essential to this position
• Fundamental knowledge of engines, hydraulics, power-trans, air-conditioning, and electrical systems as they apply to machines marketed by the dealership.
