Job Duties and Responsibilities:
The Assistant Store Manager assists the Store Manager in motivating and inspiring their team to achieve store productivity goals. They help the Store Manager to analyze week to date, period to date, and year to date sales, and develop action plans to drive top line sales. Other responsibilities include; managing payroll budgets to ensure store’s contribution is on target, ensuring the individual and collective skills of the team are utilized effectively, and both the staff and customer experience is positive. Effectively manages store operations, ensuring consistency and compliance. Responsibilities include hiring and training sales associates, monitoring inventory and ordering merchandise based on demand.Â
- Understand completely all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programsÂ
- Ensure that all store customers feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service at all times
- Achieve company objectives in sales, service, quality, appearance of facility and sanitation and cleanliness through training of employees and creating a positive, productive working environmentÂ
- Control cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with store policies and proceduresÂ
- Fill in where needed to ensure customer service standards and efficient operationsÂ
- Prepare all required paperwork, including forms, reports, and schedules in an organized and timely mannerÂ
- Hire and train new employees for the sales floor or other departmentÂ
- Ensure that all equipment is kept clean, safe, and kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurant’s preventative maintenance programsÂ
- Ensure that all products are received in correct unit count and condition and deliveries are performed in accordance with the restaurant’s receiving policies and proceduresÂ
- Schedule labor as required by anticipated business activity while ensuring that all positions are staffed when and as needed and labor cost objectives are metÂ
- Be knowledgeable of store policies regarding personnel and administer prompt, fair, and consistent corrective action for any and all violations of company policies, rules, and proceduresÂ
- Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county, and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety, and labor requirements of the store, employees and customersÂ
- Carry out store marketing, advertising, and promotional activities and campaignsÂ
- Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of the store’s trading areaÂ
- Have knowledge of service of food and beverage, generally involving at least three years of front-of-the house operations and/or assistant management positionsÂ
- Responsible for evaluating employee performance, arrange staff training, and develop programs to advance skills.Â
- Possess excellent math skills and have the ability to operate a cash register or POS systemÂ
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours)
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 poundsÂ
- Must have the stamina to work 50 to 60 hours per weekÂ
- Must have strong interpersonal, communication skills, the ability to stay calm, and polite under pressure.Â
- Obtain forklift certification.Â
Preferred Qualifications:Â
- High school diploma or equivalency degreeÂ
- At least 2 plus years of management experienceÂ
- Must be able to lift up to 25 – 50 poundsÂ
- Ability to interpret, understand and follow instructions and solve problemsÂ
- Able to work well with others as a team memberÂ
