Job Summary:
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Field Application Engineer (FAE) is a key member of the transceiver team and serves as the critical technical liaison between the development team and customer facing field operations. The FAE provides support, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment, software, or infrastructure at customer locations and ensures equipment meets functionality, safety, quality, and design specifications. 

Will suggest updates to the software, firmware or hardware to improve Maxtena’s products or procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Installation & Testing: Installing new hardware, or software, and performing tests to ensure compliance with specifications and performance requirements.
  • On-site Support & Maintenance: Providing troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs to minimize downtime
  • Technical Documentation: Creating, maintaining, and submitting, daily reports, site surveys, and technical reports.
  • Site Management: Coordinating with subcontractors, vendors, and clients, and managing on-site safety and quality standards.
  • Operational Decisions: Analyzing, interpreting, and applying technical data to solve complex problems under pressure. 
  • Effort Assessment: Evaluate requirements, time limitations, and system limitations to focus on strategic areas that address performance and/or schedule risks
  • Team Support: Collaborate with engineers regarding hardware, modem, and advocate for solutions. Support technical design review, integration, and testing
  • Product Improvements: suggest updates to software, firmware or hardware to improve products or procedures.

 

Job Requirements

  • S. Citizen, with an ability to obtain security clearance.
  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, or a related field (electrical, -electro-mechanical, computer science or telecom).
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience is desired in a field-related, technical, or project engineering role.
  • Technical Skills: Interpreting technical documents, CAD software, and industry-specific tools. Familiarity with IP networking, Linux and wireless connectivity is desired.
  • Additional Skills:Excellent organizational skills and attention to details. Strong problem-solving, communication, organizational, and leadership abilities.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work in and around motorized vehicles ad in varying weather conditions. Travel as needed. 

 

Work Environment
Mix of in-office and travel to various job sites, often alternating between working outdoors and in, at client facilities.
