Position Overview
The Mammography Tech is responsible for operating imaging equipment to perform procedures for a specified patient population. This role requires precision, professionalism, and a commitment to delivering quality patient care in accordance with West Cancer Center’s Mission, Vision, and Values.Â
Key Responsibilities
- Perform quality radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety methods
- Monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, policies, and procedures
- Manage resources effectively, including supplies and equipment
- Demonstrate professionalism and excellent customer service in all interactions
- Maintain compliance with safety protocols and infection control measures
- Provide occasional demonstration and instruction to student technologists
- Perform other job-related functions as assigned
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Required:
- Completion of a formal education program in radiography accredited by a mechanism acceptable to ARRT
- Certification and registration as R.T. (R) ARRT
- Must obtain certification and registry in Mammography within six months of hire
- State license in accordance with state regulations
- BLS Certification through the American Heart Association
Skills & Abilities
- Basic knowledge of radiographic equipment and imaging procedures
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic knowledge of radiology information systems (RIS, HIS, and PACS preferred)
