Position Overview

The Mammography Tech is responsible for operating imaging equipment to perform procedures for a specified patient population. This role requires precision, professionalism, and a commitment to delivering quality patient care in accordance with West Cancer Center’s Mission, Vision, and Values. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform quality radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety methods
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, policies, and procedures
  • Manage resources effectively, including supplies and equipment
  • Demonstrate professionalism and excellent customer service in all interactions
  • Maintain compliance with safety protocols and infection control measures
  • Provide occasional demonstration and instruction to student technologists
  • Perform other job-related functions as assigned

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Required:

  • Completion of a formal education program in radiography accredited by a mechanism acceptable to ARRT
  • Certification and registration as R.T. (R) ARRT
  • Must obtain certification and registry in Mammography within six months of hire
  • State license in accordance with state regulations
  • BLS Certification through the American Heart Association

Skills & Abilities

  • Basic knowledge of radiographic equipment and imaging procedures
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic knowledge of radiology information systems (RIS, HIS, and PACS preferred)
