Technical and Creative | Serve as an Internal Consultant to Multiple Clients

Reporting to the Director of Engineering Services, the Senior PDM Applications Engineer provides coaching and guidance to PDM team members and evaluates PDM team’s projects. Delivers comprehensive post-sales support for GSC’s customers regarding SOLIDWORKS PDM and 3D Experience on cloud products, performs the implementation of multiple products, serves as high level technical support, and provides effective training sessions to GSC’s employees and customers when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Provides mentorship for the PDM Applications Engineers including coaching and development, interviewing, and other duties as needed
  • Works with clients on the installation, training and implementations process for PDM, 3D Experience, or other SolidWorks products
  • Works with Services team to report project status and collaborate on problem solving
  • Trains, mentors and serves as a role model for PDM Applications Engineers in the areas of software capability, technical knowledge, and general customer interaction
  • Recommends new processes and procedures for the PDM team to streamline product implementation, functions, improve efficiencies and increase quality of service
  • Partners with the PDM Solutions Architect to support pre and post-sales efforts. Analyzes customer needs and makes recommendations leading to the most efficient use of SOLIDWORKS PDM solutions
  • Provides Level 3 (highest level) technical support.
  • Develops excellent relationships with SOLIDWORKS technical support, leadership and partners
  • Helps to prepare PDM Applications Engineers to meet annual PDM certification requirements
  • Travels to customer and training sites as required (but not very common) 

Qualifications

  • Strong experience utilizing SolidWorks PDM software required
  • An understanding of Microsoft SQL standard database software
  • 2+ years of professional PDM experience highly preferred
  • Prior technical support experience in networks administration and/or software related field preferred
  • Understanding of engineering processes and terms
  • Effective written/oral communication skills. Outstanding presentation skills
  • Customer focused approach. Skilled at problem solving, basic project management and basic negotiation
  • Clear understanding of computer networking and hardware
  • Ability to travel locally and in the region
