Job Summary

The Travel Specialist will conduct a Travel Review of official travel by OIG employees available in the Concur e-travel system for TDY travel. 

Essential Functions

The Travel Specialist will conduct analysis of the travel information captured during the Travel Review to identify any trends or areas of inconsistencies in travel, comparing across OIG offices, among travel approvers, across fiscal year quarters, and among travel destinations. Identify trends in terms of compliance, consistency, or timeliness by quarters.

Based on this analysis, the Travel Specialist will provide recommendations for the management of the travel program, including recommendations on additional training/guidance to travelers; communication methods; and/or oversight of the travel program to facilitate a consistent approach to travel management.

Job Specifications

Education: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and five (5) years’ experience providing administrative, business and/or financial support OR a high school diploma with at least fifteen (15) years' experience.

Experience:

  • Proficiency with Federal Travel Regulations (FTR), system application processing, database administration, application testing, training and information dissemination
  • Must be detail-oriented and have strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Concur e-travel system
