DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENTÂ (Permanent)
Our client, an established nonprofit organization in WNY, is looking to hire a Director of Development to join their team. Reporting to the Executive Director, this is an excellent opportunity, with a great work-life balance, to build relationships and improve client engagement experiences in a community-driven organization.Â

Responsibilities:
- Oversee the development team (including a Sr. Client Relations Specialist, a Development Assistant, and a part-time team member) to ensure that donor relationships are cultivated
- Create strategic plans for development, donor, and fundraising initiatives
- Participate in the success of the donor stewardship program: answering inquiries, advocating for/executing the donor’s philanthropic mission, responding to emails/phone calls/holding in-person meetings
- Manage established donor relationships, identify prospective new donors, and create/implement strategies to enhance relationships and increase endowments
- Identify compatible corporate partners and foundations, developing positive relationships in order to secure grants, endowed gifts, legacy gifts, etc.
- Manage the Client Services team members, providing leadership and support when necessary
- Manage the CRM database and its reporting to ensure appropriate and accurate information is recorded, analyze giving patterns, and record donor information
- Review donor outreach attempts and analyze for effectiveness in order to make adjustments moving forward
- Oversee event logistics: coordinating and supervising volunteers, participating in capital campaign management, ensuring successful execution, and acting as a representative of the organization at the events
- Engage with attendees to retain and increase organizational support
- Create/implement the development training program in order to strengthen skills
- Collaborate with upper leadership, Board of Trustees, Executive Director, etc. to ensure department efforts align with the organization’s mission and goals
- Work well in a team environment as well as independently
- Other duties as assigned/as necessary

Details:
- Position is full-time, direct hire
- Standard 40 hours/week, 100% in-office; ½ day Fridays in the summer
- $100,000 - $120,000 annually depending on experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, or related
- 5+ years' experience in Nonprofit Donor Relations & Fundraising preferred; Business professional ready for a career change welcome to apply

- Proficient computer skills: MSOffice, Word, PowerPoint
