Job Summary
The Community and Supportive Services Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing supportive service programs that address social and recreational needs in fulfillment of MRK Management Company’s mission of establishing a sense of community and promoting an enhanced quality of living for our residents.
This position is Part Time position: 20 Hours Per Week
Essential Job Functions
- Models company mission and valuesÂ
- Coordinates the implementation of supportive service plans and the delivery of needed and appropriate services at all assigned propertiesÂ
- Identifies, develops, and maintains networks of existing community-based supportive and social service agencies for all assigned propertiesÂ
- Develops a resource directory of service providers for residents and property managementÂ
- Provides general case management (including intake) and referral services to all residents needing assistanceÂ
- Refers and links residents to service providers and agencies in the general community—such organizations will provide services which may include, but are not limited to: job readiness, training and employment, preventative health screenings, budget counseling and money management, parenting skills and childcare alternatives, educational opportunities, leadership development, and other family servicesÂ
- Prepares reports on supportive service activities and serves as a liaison with non-profit partners, the State’s Housing Finance Agency, and other governmental/oversight committees as requiredÂ
- Promotes on-site educational events which may include topics relating to healthcare, job search seminars, and life skills trainingÂ
- Provides technical assistance to residents and resident councils in establishing programs at the property, development of resident councils, fundraising, and incorporation of other service as neededÂ
- Works closely with property management to coordinate training of residents in understanding resident and management responsibilities particularly with respect to obligations of tenancyÂ
- Sets up volunteer support programs with service providers in the communityÂ
- Improves knowledge and skill through participation in training sessions, annual service coordinator meetings, staff meeting and other professional development opportunitiesÂ
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- College degree and a minimum of three years of experience in human serviceÂ
- Minimum of two years of administrative experience, preferably in an office settingÂ
- Sound interpersonal skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced customer service and problem-solving skillsÂ
- Advanced organizational and time management skillsÂ
- Technically proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, action-oriented environmentÂ
- Ability to establish relationships across the organization and at various hierarchical levelsÂ
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time; must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportationÂ
