About the Position

The Plumbing Designer at Power Design is the brain behind what goes into our complex and intricate systems on large-scale projects. As the Plumbing Designer, you’ll work on plumbing flow calculations, equipment selections, and piping layouts to coordinate and design seamlessly alongside our mechanical and electrical scopes.

Position Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the best design solutions for plumbing systems by applying industry knowledge and quality standards while considering customer needs and budgeting requirements.
  • Provide design direction, support, and guidance to all team members, including working directly with Revit CADD technicians to ensure quality and review constructability.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, project team members, and inspecting authorities.

Here’s What We’re Looking For

  • A team player who always acts with customers in mind and thrives in a constantly changing and evolving environment.
  • 3+ years of relevant plumbing design experience.
  • Working knowledge of constructability and strong design fundamentals for mechanical and plumbing systems and installation methods.
  • Experience sizing water heaters, sump pumps, sewage ejectors, and domestic hot water plants.
  • CADD/Revit experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred.
  • Detailed knowledge of mechanical and plumbing codes (IPC, IMC, IBC, ASHRAE).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to read and interpret blueprints, submittals, and specifications, and perform basic plumbing calculations.
  • Knowledge of plumbing domestic water, storm, and sanitary calculations, as well as experience in pipe sizing, layout, and design for plumbing systems.
