Recreation Assistant (Part Time)

The Recreation Assistant supports the Gibsonville Parks and Recreation Department by helping

coordinate and staff athletic programs, practices, events, and facility operations. This part-time

position requires evening and weekend availability and involves direct interaction with the

public, including parents, children, and program participants.

Key Responsibilities

? Assist with the coordination, setup, staffing, and breakdown of athletic events and

recreational programs.

? Monitor participant safety and ensure compliance with facility and program rules.

? Open and close athletic fields and facilities as scheduled.

? Prepare, set up, and take down equipment and materials for practices, games, and special

events.

? Perform general office duties, including managing room rentals and supporting

community center operations.

? Reference athletic rules and guidelines to help resolve routine issues or questions.

? Interact professionally and courteously with the public, program participants, and

families.

? Operate scoreboards and other sports-related equipment.

This position works primarily within the Parks and Recreation Department at various facilities

throughout Gibsonville, depending on program needs.

? Part-time; approximately 10-15 hours per week, primarily weeknights and weekends

? Starting pay: $15.27 per hour.

? Valid North Carolina Driver’s License required.

? Successful completion of a drug screening and background check.
