Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Authorization Specialist to join our Central Business Office in Gilbert. This position is responsible for obtaining and managing insurance authorizations for medications administered in our clinics, helping ensure patients receive timely treatment and care.

 

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday | Day Shift

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Obtain and manage insurance authorizations for clinic-administered medications.
  • Review treatment schedules and follow up on pending authorizations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and patient account notes.
  • Update authorizations as needed due to insurance changes or expirations.
  • Collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, financial counselors, and insurance teams.
  • Monitor payer updates and drug policy changes.
  • Provide excellent customer service and support incoming calls.

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a medical office setting.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook.

Preferred:

  • Prior Drug Authorization experience.
  • Chemo and Infusion authorization experience.
  • Medical Oncology and/or Radiation Oncology experience.
  • Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding.
