Community Manager

Are you a relationship-driven professional with a passion for community management, customer service, and operational excellence? We are seeking an experienced Community Manager to oversee the daily operations of one or more homeowners associations (HOAs) and serve as a trusted advisor to Boards of Directors, residents, and business partners.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to influence community success by managing budgets, directing vendor relationships, supporting board governance, and ensuring exceptional service delivery. What You'll Do

As a Community Manager, you will be responsible for the overall administration, operations, and success of assigned communities by:

Community Leadership & Board Partnership

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Association's Board of Directors, residents, vendors, and management team.
  • Partner with Board Members and Senior Leadership to develop and execute strategic initiatives that support community goals.
  • Ensure all community operations align with the Association's mission, vision, governing documents, and Board objectives.
  • Attend Board meetings, annual meetings, and other community events as required.
  • Prepare and distribute meeting notices, agendas, board packets, minutes, and related communications.

Financial Management & Budget Oversight

  • Develop, manage, and monitor annual operating budgets for assigned communities.
  • Review monthly financial statements and provide recommendations regarding budget variances, funding needs, and reserve planning.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports in accordance with management agreements and Board requirements.
  • Review and approve vendor invoices and utility payments in compliance with established accounting procedures.

Vendor & Operations Management

  • Coordinate, negotiate, and administer service contracts with vendors and contractors.
  • Monitor vendor performance to ensure high-quality service and contract compliance.
  • Oversee property maintenance and operational activities to maintain safe, attractive, and financially sound communities.
  • Conduct regular inspections of common areas and community assets.

Compliance & Resident Relations

  • Administer and enforce community governing documents, policies, rules, regulations, and applicable laws.
  • Communicate deed restriction and compliance matters professionally and consistently.
  • Respond to resident inquiries and concerns with a customer-focused approach.
  • Foster positive relationships that promote resident satisfaction and community engagement.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with residents, Board Members, vendors, and leadership teams.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proven customer service and relationship-building abilities.
  • Strong time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and community needs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of community association management, HOA management, property management, or related experience; OR
  • Associate degree and 6-8 years of community association management, HOA management, property management, or related experience.

Preferred Certifications

One or more of the following industry designations:

  • CMCA (Certified Manager of Community Associations)
  • AMS (Association Management Specialist)
  • PCAM (Professional Community Association Manager)
