POSITION OVERVIEW

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation of the community's interior common areas, amenity spaces, and leasing facilities. This role directly impacts resident satisfaction and the overall appeal of the property. Success requires attention to detail, reliability, and a service-first attitude that reflects the community's standards and creates a welcoming experience for residents, prospects, and guests.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Interior Common Area Cleaning

  • Clean and sanitize lobbies, hallways, stairwells, and elevator cabs daily.
  • Mop, vacuum, sweep, and scrub all interior common area floors.
  • Clean interior windows, glass doors, and mirrors to a streak-free standard.
  • Wipe down and sanitize handrails, mailboxes, door handles, and all high-touch surfaces.
  • Remove trash from interior common areas and replace liners on schedule.

Amenity & Leasing Area Upkeep

  • Clean and maintain the leasing office, clubhouse, fitness center, and all amenity spaces.
  • Sanitize gym equipment, community tables, and shared furniture after each use cycle.
  • Restock paper products, soap dispensers, and amenity supplies as needed.
  • Ensure common area restrooms are clean, fully stocked, and odor-free at all times.

Additional Spaces & Reporting

  • Clean laundry rooms, vending areas, and package rooms on a regular schedule.
  • Report damaged equipment, lighting issues, or maintenance concerns to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Assist with cleaning vacant units, model units, and newly turned units as requested.
  • Maintain cleaning supply inventory and notify the supervisor when stock is low.

Standards & Safety

  • Follow cleaning schedules and checklists established by the Property Manager.
  • Use cleaning products and chemicals safely and in compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Contribute to a welcoming, well-maintained environment that enhances the resident experience.
  • Represent the community professionally at all times when interacting with residents and guests.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Ability to perform physical labor including standing, bending, and lifting up to 30 lbs for extended periods.
  • Reliable, punctual, and highly detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with commercial cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and carpet extractors.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards for chemical handling and storage.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
