Job DetailsJob Location: Gilbert, AZ 85234The primary role of the LEC is to ensure that resident activities are planned and implemented. Each activity should meet the resident’s needs and interests through a variety of recreational, religious, intellectual, and community activities. The LEC will follow the monthly activity calendar. He or she will also help develop and implement effective methods to encourage resident participation and satisfaction. The primary goal of the LEC is to fulfill the company mission statement by enhancing the daily living experience of each beloved senior and contributing to their overall health and wellness through the activities and wellness programs that are performed with compassion, respect, and dignity. The LEC needs a general knowledge and understanding of dementia and how to appropriately and effectively interact with seniors diagnosed with the disease and develop their activities and wellness program. Activities and Wellness • Carryout the monthly activity and wellness program o Activities should be planned and performed based on the residents mental and physical acuity as well as their individual needs and interests o Activity planning should include the residents and residents’ families input o Generally, activities should take place multiple times each day o Identify and implement programs, activities, and events that give residents a strong sense of purpose o Physical exercise, reflection time, and outdoor activities should be included in the activities calendar o The monthly calendar should be designed to portray a festive, yet professional activity program o The monthly calendar should be displayed in each home and be available to residents, family members, tours and team at all times • Plan and conduct special events to celebrate residents’ birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, and other specified events o Work closely with the directors to coordinate events and other special activities • Decorate the community for all holidays in an elegant and uplifting fashion o Obtain approval from the Executive Director (ED) for all décor • Work individually with residents and their family members to get to know their personal needs, interests, and preferences • Provide and maintain photos of all special events and occasional daily activities • Organize and encourage activity’s volunteers when possible o Interview, orient, train, and supervise all activities volunteers and ensure that they receive recognition for their efforts • Order and maintain all activity equipment and supplies o Ensure that all supplies are well kept and neatly organized in each home • Coordinate with families and staff to ensure that all resident shadow boxes are decorated with a personal touch (if applicable)  Qualifications
