Job Type: Full-time, 9-month teaching appointment Internal Job Category: Faculty Position Purpose: Applications are being sought for a full-time assistant professor of Criminal Justice courses teaching introductory and upper-division courses, with primary teaching responsibilities within the Homeland Security program. The program of study for the Criminal Justice and Homeland Security degrees may be reviewed in the university catalog. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Subject matter expertise in Homeland Security, including intelligence, terrorism, and emergency management. Ability to integrate professional practice with academic theory in applied classroom settings Ability to incorporate applied learning strategies such as case studies, simulations, scenario-based exercises, and professional skill development. Demonstrated interpersonal/intrapersonal skills, especially in engaging with traditional and non-traditional university students. Responsibilities: Develop and teach undergraduate courses in Criminal Justice and Homeland Security Maintain regular office hours and clear communication with students Advise and mentor assigned students regarding educational and career goals. Serve on university committees Contribute to curriculum development and program assessment Build and maintain professional partnerships that support student career opportunities Engage in ongoing professional development Experience:   Evidence of rigorous, creative, and effective teaching at the collegiate level. Experience working with diverse student populations. Experience in law enforcement, homeland security, emergency management, or related field are strongly preferred. Education: Completed master’s or terminal degree in Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, or related field. Ph.D. preferred. Additional Information: Available for Fall and Spring semesters on-site at the main campus in Lebanon, TN.
