Compassionate Caregiver Needed for Independent Adult Female Client with Quadriplegia
Location:Â Lebanon, TN
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 1:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Pay:Â $18-20
FirstLight Home Care is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and patient caregiver to provide in-home support for an adult female client living with quadriplegia due to a spinal cord injury at the C6-C7 level.
Our client is very independent, enjoys cooking for her family, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and staying engaged in her daily routines. We are looking for a caregiver who can provide hands-on assistance while encouraging and supporting her independence.
Client Diagnoses
- Quadriplegia due to spinal cord injury (C6-C7)
- Bowel and bladder incontinence requiring catheter management
- Contractures of both hands
Caregiver Responsibilities
Personal Care & Mobility Support
- Gather and prepare bathing supplies
- Assist with dressing and undressing from the waist down
- Provide shower assistance each shift
- Observe for safety during slide board transfers and assist as needed
- Assist with drying and redressing after bathing
- Change urine collection bags after showers
- Assist with flushing catheter tubing and changing catheter bags as needed
- Assist with light laundry
Meal Preparation & Household Support
- Prepare meals and snacks
- Assist with chopping, dicing, and opening food packages and containers
- Wash dishes each shift
- Encourage hydration throughout the day
- Assist with watering outdoor plants
- Take garbage to the road on Tuesday evenings
- Accompany client on errands when needed
Qualifications
- Experience working with spinal cord injuries preferred
- Experience with quadriplegic clients is a plus
- Comfortable assisting with catheter care and personal care tasks
- Experience with slide board transfers preferred
- Dependable, compassionate, and patient
- Able to encourage independence while providing support when needed
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license required
