By bringing mortgage, realty, and insurance services together under one roof, we provide a simpler, more transparent experience designed to save clients time and money. At CapCenter, our mission extends beyond serving clients. We foster a collaborative, high-impact environment where employees are empowered to do meaningful work, grow professionally, and make a real difference in the lives of the people we serve.

Job Overview:

CapCenter is seeking a Real Estate Closing Attorney who brings legal expertise, an innovative mindset, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional client experience. This is not a traditional law firm role—it is a high-impact position blending operations leadership, compliance oversight, and client-facing closing work. The ideal candidate performs effectively under pressure, inspires excellence in others, and is eager to grow alongside CapCenter.

Key Responsibilities:

Closing Execution

At CapCenter, the closing is more than a necessary step—it is your opportunity to deliver a professional, informed, and memorable experience. You will work closely with CapCenter’s mortgage, title, and real estate teams to ensure that every closing is executed with precision and ensure every client leaves eager to refer CapCenter to friends and family. This role is for someone who takes pride in running an efficient, well-organized closing operation and who sees the closing table as an opportunity to represent the company at its best.

Operations Team Leadership

You will manage the day-to-day workflow of closing operations, keeping timelines on track and processes running smoothly. You will identify bottlenecks, propose improvements, and ensure that team operations reflect CapCenter’s mission of simplifying the homeownership experience and maintaining full transparency in every client interaction. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the operational side of legal work – solving problems, streamlining workflows, and making things run better.

Lending Counsel

As in-house counsel embedded in CapCenter’s mortgage and closing operations, you will advise the production and closing teams on legal, title, and compliance requirements imposed by applicable law and agencies , keeping transactions compliant and well-structured from initiation through closing.

Transaction Quality Control

You will serve as the quality control backstop across CapCenter’s title, loan production, closing, and realty teams—reviewing documentation, identifying risk, and ensuring every file meets company standards before closing.

Qualifications:

A cover letter highlighting your interest and relevant experience is strongly encouraged.

The ideal candidate combines genuine enthusiasm for client service with the operational mindset needed to lead a high-performing team. Strong analytical skills, sound legal judgment, and a desire to use a legal background to drive business results are essential. Legal experience, preferably in real estate, mortgage lending, or a related transactional practice, is strongly preferred.

  • Active Virginia law license (or eligibility for admission) and J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal and financial concepts clearly
  • High standards of professionalism, ethics, and integrity
  • Genuine enthusiasm for client service and a commitment to delivering an outstanding client experience
  • Demonstrated ability to perform effectively with high-volume, deadline-driven work and manage multiple concurrent transactions
  • Keen attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness
  • Willingness to develop deep expertise in local real estate and mortgage markets
  • A collaborative, growth-oriented mindset

Compensation:

The estimated range of $70,000 – $105,000 reflects the budgeted amount for this position. Individual compensation will be determined based on job-related business considerations, such as relevant qualifications, experience, location, education, certifications, skills, and other job-related reasons. Where applicable, this position is eligible for incentive compensation and/or discretionary bonus opportunities.

Benefits:

CapCenter offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid vacation, paid holidays, and other programs designed to support the well-being and professional growth of our employees.

Equal Opportunity Employer:

CapCenter is an Equal Opportunity Employer (Veteran/Disability). All qualified applicants will be considered regardless of race, color, national origin, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other status protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.
