Medical Office Access Coordinator will serve as the dedicated liaison for patient access improvements in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary medical practice. Monitor and manage provider schedules, ensuring optimal office functionality and superior patient relations. Interact with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare professionals to streamline clinic visits. Assist with patient follow-up, care coordination, administrative tasks, and data management to maximize clinic efficiency.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Daily management of provider schedules and appointment reminders
- Verification of insurance prior to scheduling appointments
- Obtain prior authorizations as needed
- Facilitate communication within the care team and document actions in EMR
- Promptly address patient needs and concerns, advocating for optimal scheduling
- Handle inquiries, enter data into systems, and ensure compliance with privacy laws
- Collaborate with team members to enhance patient outcomes and cover other departments as needed
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in high-volume medical practice scheduling
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems (e.g., Athena Practice Solutions)
- Strong multitasking, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and in a shared workspace environment
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Five years of customer service experience
- Three years of experience in a medical office environment
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records Systems
