Class B CDL Delivery Driver (Full-Time) – Mawson Lumber & Hardware

Mawson Lumber and Hardware is a locally owned lumber yard and hardware store in historic Old Town Fort Collins. We've served the Fort Collins community for nearly a century, and as we continue growing, we are seeking a reliable, safety-focused Class B CDL Delivery Driver to join our small, dependable team.

In this role, you'll load, transport, and deliver lumber and building materials to residential, commercial, and job site locations, representing Mawson on the road and at customer sites. You'll be trusted to handle every load safely and professionally, coordinate with dispatch and our yard team, and provide the kind of dependable service our customers expect. Key Responsibilities

·         Safely operate a Class B forklift mounted flatbed truck, box truck, or other delivery vehicle to transport lumber and building materials
·         Load and unload materials using proper lifting techniques and equipment (forklift, pallet jack, straps)
·         Verify delivery instructions and confirm orders with dispatch before departure
·         Inspect materials for quality and accuracy before loading
·         Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs
·         Maintain accurate delivery logs and required documentation
·         Maintain cleanliness in all company vehicles
·         Communicate professionally with customers, answering basic questions and confirming delivery placement
·         Follow all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, traffic laws, and company safety policies
·         Assist in the yard or warehouse as needed (stacking, organizing, or preparing orders)

Compensation

·         $24.00 – $26.00/hour (DOE)

Schedule

·         Monday–Friday, 7:00am–5:00pm 

Qualifications

·         Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record
·         High school diploma or equivalent
·         Current DOT medical certification (or ability to obtain one)
·         Ability to pass a DOT physical and pre-employment/random drug screening
·         21 years of age or older
·         1+ years of experience in delivery or commercial driving, preferably with building materials or heavy loads
·         Working knowledge of DOT hours-of-service and general safety regulations
·         Ability to lift and carry up to 80 lbs. and work in various weather conditions
·         Strong communication and customer service skills

Preferred Skills

·         Air brake endorsement
·         Forklift experience and/or certification
·         Experience with flatbed loading, strapping, and tarping
·         Familiarity with lumber and other building materials
