Role
As a Weld Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the welding department, ensuring all team members perform welding on products in accordance with code requirements and dimensional specifications. You will provide technical guidance on welding procedures and techniques (MIG, TIG, and plasma cutting) to ensure proper penetration, fusion, and strength while minimizing distortion. You are responsible for interpreting complex drawings and material specification codes to manage production flow, quality control, and the professional development of the welding team.
Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Serve as the subject matter expert on all welding processes, including laser, electron beam, gas welding, and arc equipment.
- Operational Oversight: Review work orders and production schedules to assign tasks and ensure the team meets deadlines.
- Quality Assurance: Audit welds to ensure they fall within blueprint tolerances; manage the repair process for any non-conforming parts.
- Safety Management: Enforce all welding safety guidelines and proper cleaning protocols for tools and equipment.
- Logistics & Equipment: Oversee the safe operation of jib and overhead cranes; ensure all machinery and hand tools are maintained and calibrated.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement "better weld processes" to increase efficiency and reduce material waste.
- Blueprint Proficiency: Advanced ability to interpret layouts and verify the accuracy of the team's plate welding and fitting.
- Physical Oversight: Ability to navigate the shop floor, including prolonged periods of standing, walking, or climbing to inspect work and assist the team.

-Compensation: - $26.00 to $35.00 /hour Dependent on Experience
