We're looking for a dependable Cash Application Specialist to join our Accounting & Finance team. In this role, you'll ensure customer payments are accurately applied and reconciled while supporting the financial operations of MPW Industrial Services, Porta Kleen, PPS, and Field Force.

What You'll Do

  • Process and post customer payments received through ACH, wire transfers, checks, and credit cards.
  • Apply high-dollar-volume customer payments for U.S. and Canadian accounts with a high level of accuracy.
  • Reconcile Auto Cash transactions and research unidentified or unapplied payments.
  • Prepare month-end cash application reconciliations and related reporting.
  • Support quarterly and annual audit requests by providing accurate financial documentation.
  • Partner with Credit & Collections representatives to identify payments received without remittance information.
  • Investigate payment discrepancies and resolve issues through collaboration with internal teams.
  • Analyze payment data to improve cash application processes and account management efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate financial records while meeting established quality and productivity standards.
  • Communicate payment issues and trends to leadership in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist with continuous process improvements that enhance accuracy and operational effectiveness.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Credit & Collections.

 

What You'll Need

  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, General Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
  • Previous business-to-business cash application experience is helpful.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and other business software applications; JD Edwards experience is preferred but not required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and reasoning skills with the ability to identify issues, recommend solutions, and work independently.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations involving whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
