Roles and Responsibilities:Â
- Prepare workstations with supplies, foods, and condimentsÂ
- Focus on delivering exceptional food quality for all meals preparedÂ
- Prepare proper quantities of food according to department standards and guest needsÂ
- Inspect and clean all food preparation areasÂ
- Strictly abide by standards set forth by ServSafe, state and local regulations, company policy, and other food regulatory standards that may apply at Story Land Â
- Become knowledgeable of all food products and ingredients usedÂ
- Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients using various kitchen utensils and equipment; season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgmentÂ
- Assist with basic food preparation, such as washing, peeling, slicing, fruits and vegetablesÂ
- Utilize ovens, fryers, broilers, griddles, mixers, and knives to prepare food (age restrictions may apply)Â
- Carefully follow recipes and procedures while preparing all food dishesÂ
- Ensure that all service and hygienic practices, policies, and procedures are being followed at all timesÂ
- Pre-portion individual packaging sauces, sandwiches, salads, and other itemsÂ
- Escalate safety, hygienic, or maintenance issues to the proper authorities in a timely mannerÂ
- Keep kitchen space neat and clean to meet company and legal standardsÂ
- Properly handle, label, stock, and store products including chemicals and cleaning supplies (age restrictions may apply)Â
- Promptly notify the security team or the manager of host and guest injuries or emergenciesÂ
- Ensure that all work areas, food and equipment/utensils used are cleaned, stowed and secured in preparation for the next day’s work, in accordance with state and local sanitation protocolsÂ

Education and Experience:Â
- No education requirements for this positionÂ
- Culinary arts education a plus, but not requiredÂ
- 1 year of previous experience as a chef, cook, or another culinary-related role highly desired, but not required.Â
- Must be Food Handler Safety Certified (ServSafe or similar) or become so within 90 days of hire, when required by state and local guidelines.Â
Â
Language:Â Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.Â

- Must be at least 16 years of age to comply with New Hampshire Child Labor LawsÂ
- Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysÂ
- Must have reliable transportation to and from your scheduled shiftÂ
- Ability to comply with all uniform policiesÂ
- Must possess exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional mannerÂ
- Must possess safety-oriented mindset and understand the importance of complying with all state, and local food preparation and serving regulationsÂ
- Ability to use kitchen equipment, knives, and appliances in a safe and effective mannerÂ
- Must possess a general knowledge and interest in food preparation or culinary artsÂ
- Ability to follow direction, multi-task, and work as part of a team as well as independentlyÂ

Physical Requirements:Â
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for majority of the workdayÂ
- Ability to frequently stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shouldersÂ
- Ability to withstand heat and humidity from the food preparation equipmentÂ
- Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 30 pounds or moreÂ
- Ability to use a step ladder in a safe and proper mannerÂ

Working Conditions:Â
- This role will predominantly be based in a kitchen environmentÂ
- Potential to be asked to work in other indoor or outdoor areas of the park, as neededÂ
- Some exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain and other weather conditionsÂ
- Subject to the handling of and exposure to oils, chemicals, detergents, and cleaners (age restrictions apply)Â
- Subject to frequent interruptions, constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, and heavily populated environmentsÂ
