The Unit Secretary performs clinical and communication functions on assigned nursing unit. She/He provides courteous reception on the nursing unit and arranges and coordinates activities for patient care.

Minimum Education:
High School or equivalent

Minimum Skills:
Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
Demonstrate excellent customer service behavior.
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word as well as Internet access and utilization.
Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
Appropriate Telephone Skills.


Required Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA)
AB508 (Management of Assaultive Behavior) Only for ED/Geropsych - if no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire

1 year Experience as a Unit Secretary in acute care

The hourly rate for this position is $23.88.
