Glendive Medical Center | Glendive, MT | PRN (As Needed) |Starting Pay: $17.50+/hour (based on experience)

Glendive Medical Center is seeking caring, dependable individuals to join our Acute Care team as PRN Nursing Assistants. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys direct patient interaction and wants the flexibility of an as-needed schedule while remaining part of a compassionate healthcare team.

Your Impact

Nursing Assistants play an important role in supporting patients and clinical staff throughout the hospital. Working under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel, you'll help ensure patients receive attentive, respectful, and safe care during their stay.

 

Primary Responsibilities

Direct Patient Care

  • Assist patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal care needs
  • Support mobility activities, including transfers, ambulation, and repositioning
  • Help patients with meals, hydration, and daily comfort measures
  • Create a welcoming and supportive environment for patients and visitors

Clinical Support

  • Obtain and document vital signs
  • Monitor and report observations to nursing staff
  • Record intake and output information
  • Collect specimens as directed
  • Assist with cardiac monitoring and EKG-related tasks
  • Perform delegated patient care activities within scope of training

Team Collaboration

  • Respond promptly to patient needs and call lights
  • Participate in shift communication and care team discussions
  • Communicate patient concerns and changes in condition to nursing staff
  • Foster positive working relationships with coworkers and providers

Department Support

  • Maintain patient care supplies and equipment
  • Assist with unit organization and readiness
  • Participate in education, training, and staff meetings
  • Support a culture of safety, quality, and service excellence

 

Qualifications

Required

  • Active CNA certification
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred

  • Active CNA certification
  • Previous healthcare or patient care experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent

PRN Requirements

To remain active in PRN status, team members must work:

  • At least five shifts per quarter
  • One weekend shift each quarter
  • One recognized holiday shift annually

Physical Expectations

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting
  • Ability to safely move or assist patients using proper techniques and equipment
  • Capability to respond quickly during emergency situations
  • Ability to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation
